Aruba paid homage to Etty Toppeberg

Friday various artists and many fans, friends, and family came together at the Nicky Habibe Plaza to pay homage to Etty Toppenberg, for his 65th year in show business.

Edjean Semeleer, singer and co-founder of the ‘Go Cultura’ Foundation, was one of the driving forces behind this initiative. For Semeleer, a pilar such as Etty Toppenberg deserves to have some recognition and they, therefore, decided to pay homage to him while he is still here to enjoy it.

They started planning this on the 27th of July, but only at the start of this week did they get confirmation from some of the organizations such as UNOCA, ‘Departamento di Cultura’ and ‘Ministerio di Cultura’, that they would indeed be uniting at the ‘Go Cultura’ Foundation to provide Etty with this homage.

On this special night, they tried bringing together as many artists as possible to provide the audience with a musical concert with compositions by Etty himself, the compositions by ‘Trio Huasteca’, and the songs that mean a lot to Etty. All of this was enjoyed whilst also remembering good times in Etty’s career during his 65 years in show business.
